Luck Filter

How we keep your account safe

Connecting a brokerage account to a website is a big ask. Here is exactly what happens, what we can see, and what we can never do.

We can look, never touch

The connection is read-only. It can read your past trades, deposits, holdings and balances. It cannot place a trade, move money, change your settings or withdraw anything. There is no button anywhere in Luck Filter that could do those things, because the access we are given does not allow them.

We never see your broker password

You sign in on your broker's own page, or on the secure page of our connection partner, SnapTrade, a company that links investment apps to brokers. Your password goes to them, not to us. We receive only a read-only pass to your history, which you can cancel at any time.

Only you can see your numbers

  • Everything between your browser and us travels encrypted, and the database is encrypted where it is stored.
  • The database itself checks who is asking: each person can read only their own rows, even if our website had a fault.
  • Your figures are private unless you choose to share a link to them, and you can switch that link off again.
  • We do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies.

Leaving is one click

You can disconnect a broker under Settings, or delete your whole account under Your account. Deleting closes your broker connections and erases what we hold for you straight away, apart from the working copies on our processing machine, which go within a few days (the privacy policy has the detail). You can also cancel access from your broker's side at any time.

What we are not

Luck Filter is not a broker or an adviser. We never hold your money, and we never tell you what to buy or sell: we describe what already happened in your account.

Where your data lives

On servers in the United States run by well-known providers, listed in our privacy policy with what each one does.
